Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Traider LLC ("Traider," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Traider web and mobile app (the "Service"). Traider is a trading journal and analytics tool for educational and informational purposes only. We do not sell your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, username, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), and your confirmation that you are 18 or older.
• Profile information you choose to add: profile picture, trading style, experience, preferred markets, account size, trading setups, and trading rules.
• Trading data: trades you enter or import (symbols, dates, prices, size, direction, P&L, fees), your notes, and screenshots you upload.
• Connected account data: see Section 4.
• Payment information: subscription plan and status, billing dates, and the time you accepted the renewal terms. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
• Technical data: IP address, browser and device information, and server logs used for security, rate limiting, and troubleshooting.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and improve the journal, analytics, sync, and social features
• Generate AI insights on your trading data when you request them (Section 3)
• Process subscriptions and payments and send receipts and account emails
• Send journal reminders if you turn them on, and product announcements only if you signed up for them (you can opt out any time)
• Keep the Service secure and prevent fraud and abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

3. AI Features & OpenAI

When you use AI insights, trade analysis, or AI Lab, we send the relevant trading data to OpenAI to generate a response. This can include trade details (symbol, dates, direction, prices, size, P&L, session, setup), your trade notes, your trading rules, and the names of your linked accounts. We do not send your screenshots, password, email address, or payment details. Under OpenAI's API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train OpenAI's models by default. AI output may be inaccurate and is not financial advice.

4. Connected Brokerage Accounts

You may choose to connect a supported brokerage or trading platform (e.g., Tradovate, TopstepX, cTrader) so Traider can import your trades automatically. When you do:

• What we access: Read-only account information (account names, IDs, and balances), account risk settings (such as daily loss limits and position size limits, which Traider can show as your trading rules), and trade history (fills, prices, quantities, timestamps, fees, and realized P&L).
• What we never do: Traider does not place, modify, or cancel orders, and does not move funds.
• How we connect: Where the platform supports it, you sign in on the platform's own website (OAuth) and Traider never sees your password. Access tokens and API keys are stored encrypted and used only to sync your trades.
• How to disconnect: You can disconnect an account in Traider at any time, which deletes its stored credentials and the trades imported from it (trades you entered manually are kept). You can also revoke Traider's access from the platform's own settings.

Brokerage data is used only to provide the journal and analytics features described in this policy and is never sold or shared with advertisers.

5. Social Features: What Others Can See

• Search: other signed-in users can find you by username or name.
• Leaderboard (off by default): if you opt in, all users can see your username, name, profile picture, total P&L, win rate, and number of trades.
• Friends (mutual, after you accept): can see your stats, your last 30 trades including notes, your trading profile (style, experience, markets, account size), and your setups.
• Follow connections (after they are accepted): both people can see each other's stats and last 10 trades including notes.
• PnL cards: created on your device and shared only when you choose to share them.
• Images: profile pictures and journal screenshots are stored at hard-to-guess web links. Anyone who has a link can open that image, so avoid uploading screenshots that show sensitive information.

6. Service Providers We Share Data With

We share data only with providers that help us run the Service, under terms that limit their use of it, and with authorities when legally required. We do not share personal data with advertisers.

• Supabase: database, authentication, and file storage
• Vercel: website and API hosting
• Stripe: payments and subscription billing
• OpenAI: AI insights (Section 3)
• Resend: sending account, billing, and reminder emails
• Rewardful: affiliate referral tracking (Section 7)
• Your connected brokers (Tradovate, TopstepX, cTrader): only to read the data you authorize

7. Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for the Service: keeping you signed in (and your "Remember me" choice), protecting broker connections during sign-in, and site access checks. We also load Rewardful, which may set a cookie to attribute sign-ups that come through an affiliate's referral link. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad tracking.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can export your journal (CSV or JSON) from the app on any plan, or email support@traiderapp.com for a copy; you can also disconnect a broker account (which deletes its stored credentials and imported trades), and permanently delete your account in Profile, Delete account. Deleting your account cancels any subscription and deletes your journal, linked accounts, rules, profile, and uploaded images. Copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period before they are overwritten. We keep billing records as required by law.

9. Data Security

We use encryption in transit, encryption at rest for broker credentials and tokens, row-level access controls, and rate limiting. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password.

10. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Most of this you can do in the app; for anything else, email support@traiderapp.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can turn off journal reminders in your Profile and unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in each email. EU/UK users may lodge a complaint with their data protection authority.

11. Children

Traider is only for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. For material changes we will email you and show a notice in the app before they take effect, and update the "Last updated" date above.
